About Levante

Levante is a casual-cool, pizza-centric Italian restaurant and bar located two blocks from historic Court Square, a neighborhood that has undergone dramatic changes in the past several years, and continues to change day by day. Levante offers artisanal products in an environment that is vibrant, sociable, and dynamic. The location includes a 1,000 square foot dining room and a 16-seat full bar, 32’ high ceilings, a 1,000 square foot backyard-outdoor space and a 350 square foot private dining room.

Located at 26-21 Jackson Ave, Long Island City, NY 11101, Levante operates as a pizza restaurant serving Long Island City in New York. This page gathers the practical details people usually look for before visiting: where it is, how to reach it, when it opens and how customers rate it. Besides its main category, the business also describes itself as cocktail bar, italian restaurant, wine bar, so it may cover more than the name suggests.

Pizza places in the United States run from a counter with two stools and a stack of boxes to a full sit-down pizzeria with a bar, and most neighborhood shops do all three things at once: dine-in, takeout and delivery. Ordering by phone is still common and often faster than an app, and many independents charge less when you call direct because there is no platform fee. Sizes are usually listed in inches (a small around 10", a large 14", an extra-large 16" or more), and a large feeds two to three adults. Slices are sold from a display case at New York-style counters and reheated to order; whole pies take 15-25 minutes at a busy shop. Most spots take cards and mobile pay, though a few older pizzerias remain cash-only, so check the door or the listing before you order.

Long Island City is in New York, in the Northeast, where four distinct seasons shape local life: hot humid summers, snowy winters that can close businesses for a day, and a dense pattern of towns where walking, transit and street parking all matter. Getting around Long Island City is easiest by car; street parking is metered in busy downtown areas, and most suburban businesses have their own lot. Ride-share apps such as Uber and Lyft operate across New York's larger cities, and public transit varies from extensive to minimal.

Came on Friday evening around 5:30 to grab happy hour (4-6pm weekdays) and dinner. It was very quiet so we had any choice of table options so we grabbed the first seat outdoors. Our happy hour wine ($10) came with a small aperitivo (nuts or olives). The wine was your standard inexpensive hh option of red or white (tried both) and they were okβ€”nothing mind blowing. My husband and I shared a pizza for dinner which is always great at Levante. We ended up with 2 pieces left over. We asked for some foil to wrap it to go, but they apparently only had boxes. We carried a pizza box of 2 small slices on the subway back to flushing. It was worth it. Recommend this place for great quality Neapolitan style (brick oven) pizza and a nice quiet spot to catch up with the friends over happy hour. Only downside was service got pretty slow around 6:30/7 when more patrons came in. (Took ~20 minutes between asking for our bill and signing it.)

Cozy spot with indoor and outdoor dining. Good food and drinks. Brick oven pizza. Vety calm place in a busy area. Great customer service. I will be back

Went to Levante in Long Island Cityβ€”overall a mixed experience. The calamari was underwhelming, lacking flavor, and the aioli that came with it was thin and didn’t really add much. On the other hand, the pizza had a great crust and the wood-fired oven definitely gave it a nice depth, but the sauce was way too salty for my taste. The branzino with potatoes was deliciousβ€”cooked perfectlyβ€”but I do wish it had a more visually appealing presentation. The space itself is beautifully done, with a really nice build-out and comfortable outdoor seating. The staff was friendly and very attentive, which definitely made the experience better.

It’s like what many reviewers have said: the pasta is just ok. But the pizzas are great. The branzino entree was great. The drinks were great. The meatball appetizer and the fried calamari and shrimps were great. The chicken milanese entree was dry, though. This was the second time there. I remember the last time was even better.

Heard so much of Levante and definitely did not disappoint. Great appetizers, better pizzas and next level cocktails. Beautiful spacious interior accented with 30’ ceiling. Choice of backyard dining when weather permits. Staff is very courteous and bartenders are very knowledgeable. I’ve nothing but praise for Levante.
